The Rolling Stones officially announced a new album titled Foreign Tongues during a special event held inside the historic Williamsburgh Savings Bank building in Brooklyn. The album is scheduled for release on July 10 and comes less than two years after the band’s successful 2023 record *Hackney Diamonds*. Band members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood appeared on stage for a public discussion about the project, joined by comedian Conan O'Brien, who hosted the launch event.

Celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio and Lindsey Vonn were among the guests attending the announcement. The band also released a new single titled “In The Stars,” offering fans a first look at the upcoming record. According to the group, the album was recorded over a month in London and includes collaborations with several major artists, including Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith of The Cure and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

One of the songs on the album also features late drummer Charlie Watts, using material recorded during one of his final studio sessions before his death in 2021. Jagger described the track as fast and energetic, inspired by punk rock influences. The album was produced with the help of longtime collaborators including Matt Clifford, Steve Jordan and Darryl Jones, along with producer Andrew Watt, known for his work with artists such as Post Malone and Justin Bieber.

During the event, the band praised Watt for bringing energy and urgency into the studio whenever sessions slowed down. The group also revealed the official album artwork created by artist Nathaniel Quinn. The cover combines distorted versions of the band members’ faces and was described as a visual representation of their long musical journey together.

Fans had already begun speculating about a new album weeks before the official announcement. Posters featuring the name “The Cockroaches,” a pseudonym previously used by the band, appeared across London alongside QR codes leading to mysterious promotional pages. Later, billboards displaying the famous Rolling Stones tongue logo and the phrase “Foreign Tongues” in multiple languages appeared in cities around the world.

The band’s song “Rough and Twisted,” which was quietly released earlier under the Cockroaches name, is also part of the new album. Jagger described the song as a blues-inspired fantasy story, while Wood said the recording process felt spontaneous and unpredictable. The surviving members of the band are also scheduled to appear separately on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon later this month.

While no official tour has been announced yet, Jagger said he hopes the group will eventually take the new album on the road and perform the songs live for fans around the world..
