Source Methodology

Mirror Standard aims to show readers how articles are built: what is sourced directly, what is public record, and where interpretation begins.

Primary-source bias

Whenever possible, Mirror Standard prefers primary documents, official institutional pages, public records, direct statements, and on-the-record sourcing over summary material recycled across the web.

When direct verification is not available, the article should say so or narrow its wording accordingly.

Source notes and links

For trust-sensitive stories such as finance explainers, profiles, and legal-context coverage, Mirror Standard may append a source-notes section that links readers to primary institutional pages or public records.

How we treat uncertainty

We do not convert uncertainty into certainty for headline effect.
We distinguish analysis from assertion.
We update wording when better sourcing becomes available.
